BOURBON BLACK FOREST CUPCAKES 

Ingredients

CUPCAKES:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

BOURBON CHERRY FILLING:

  • 1 16-oz jar of pitted, stemless cherries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp bourbon

VANILLA FROSTING:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

CHERRY FROSTING:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp cherry filling
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

CUPCAKES:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a bowl and carefully whisk them together.
  3. In another bowl, add butter and sugar and mix with a hand-mixer on medium speed until completely blended. The mixture will look crumbly.
  4. Add the vanilla and the egg. Mix well.
