Brown Butter Pecan Cupcakes

Ingredients

For the Brown Butter Pecan Cupcakes:

  • 1 cup Brown Butter
  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 (8 ounce) package toffee bits (reserve 1/4 cup for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

For the Brown Butter Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Brown Butter
  • 5 cups confectioners' sugar
  • Optional Topping: chopped pecans and toffee bits

Instructions

For the Praline Cupcakes:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line muffin pans with 30 paper liners.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and vanilla at medium speed with a mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
